I was working in my lab late one night

Still more photos left over from Last year. I have ALWAYS wanted to do a Mad Scientist costume. I had more fun with this photo shoot than any of the others. I mean, come on. Lookit these photos. I'm sure my downstairs neighbors didn't enjoy the back porch cackling at 10:30 at night, but I don't really enjoy their 4:30 am drunken fights. So we're even.

I would go out tonight but I haven't got a stitch to wear

Well, it's been a year since I was supposed to get these up. I guess that late is better than never. I guess. I've been so busy this year that I didn't even really get to dress up! So I decided I really needed to post the rest from my challenge.  I wore this out on the Saturday prior to Halloween last year. It may have been my favorite of all the 15 I did. I loved how cute, comfy, and warm the outfit was, and I LOVED my makeup. I also really love how cheap this one came together. I had the entire outfit, so that was free. I bought the earrings ($2.99), the hair spray ($1.99), and the bolts for my necklace ($1.50). An entire costume for under $10! And I looked WAAAY better than the "ladies" in their $70 slutty outfits. If I do say so myself.

 Sweater: Delias (very old)
Striped shirt: Forever 21
Skirt: Urban outfitters
Tights: Target
Shoes: Kmart
Bag and necklace: DIY

I love liquid Latex.
What is your costume this year?

Polka Dot-Dash

Moment of honesty: This is from September. I'm really far behind. To be fair my life is so booked solid this moth that I have a hand written calender I have to check every morning. I'm aware that most people do this on a regular basis. As you may have concluded from this blog, I'm not most people. I lead my life disorganized and scatterbrained. I have been desperately trying to add a schedule to my life to make it easier to get things done, but so far all that works in my lists. I don't think I will ever be without a paper note pad to jot down my thoughts and lists. It's the only think that keeps me grounded-ish.

Cardigan: Thrifted kids (Old Navy i think)
Dress: Target Kids
Necklace: Corvidae
Tights: Target (i think)
Shoes: Seychelles

What keeps your head from spinning off its shoulders?
Inquiering minds need to know.

Dying Sunlight

When you see the boots, you know the tights aren't too far behind! I'm truly ecstatic about the fall season. I love when the weather begins to get just a bit crisp and I can layer! Here I come tights and sweaters! Truth be told I've worn tights almost every day for over a week now, I just haven't been able to get photos. We just barely got these! John snapped off 20 or so shots in the dying sunlight and then we stood and watched the spectacular sun set together.
This dress was purchased at a thrift store right at the beginning of spring. My full intention was to color strip it and redye. Then I accidentally fell in love with it. I wore it a bunch this summer sans crinoline and with my gold sandals.  The cardigan is a recent thrift acquisition and the Mori girl in me is so in to it.  How could I pass up a romantic vintage Swedish tatted cardigan? For $4! I had two ladies try and swipe it from my try on pile in the store! Always be vigilant and protect your scores while thrifting!

I hope the weather is cooling off where you are. Be sure to get out and enjoy it!

Clean Studio

A clean studio is a productive one...right? No crap on the floor, my walls have been arted (my word, don't steal. Ok, you can borrow) and most importantly, my desk is free of debris. Time to start cranking out new pieces for fall 2012.

I'll get right on that.
Right after this nap.

Tea for 2(sday) breakfast and tea

I love breakfast. It's not a meal I typically focus on much during the work week, so on my "days off" I try to take the time for me. I curl up in my oversized sweater and slippers and enjoy. This is a pretty typical "me time" meal, though I prefer local fruit to also make an appearance, but most importantly, i must have my mug of tea. Today I have selected Bigelow's Constant Comment Green tea. I LOVE this tea. I drink it constantly with nothing else added. With breakfast I over steep it just a bit and add honey and a dab of almond milk.

 MMMMMMMMMM:)

On the rest of menu? Whole wheat toast, Egg over medium, and NC Berry Best Jam.

Imladris Farm Jam is AMAZING.

Always be sure to eat your breakfast. It's the most important meal of the day!
What is your favorite breakfast dish?
