Dying Sunlight

When you see the boots, you know the tights aren't too far behind! I'm truly ecstatic about the fall season. I love when the weather begins to get just a bit crisp and I can layer! Here I come tights and sweaters! Truth be told I've worn tights almost every day for over a week now, I just haven't been able to get photos. We just barely got these! John snapped off 20 or so shots in the dying sunlight and then we stood and watched the spectacular sun set together.
This dress was purchased at a thrift store right at the beginning of spring. My full intention was to color strip it and redye. Then I accidentally fell in love with it. I wore it a bunch this summer sans crinoline and with my gold sandals.  The cardigan is a recent thrift acquisition and the Mori girl in me is so in to it.  How could I pass up a romantic vintage Swedish tatted cardigan? For $4! I had two ladies try and swipe it from my try on pile in the store! Always be vigilant and protect your scores while thrifting!

Clean Studio

A clean studio is a productive one...right? No crap on the floor, my walls have been arted (my word, don't steal. Ok, you can borrow) and most importantly, my desk is free of debris. Time to start cranking out new pieces for fall 2012.

I'll get right on that.
Right after this nap.

Tea for 2(sday) breakfast and tea

I love breakfast. It's not a meal I typically focus on much during the work week, so on my "days off" I try to take the time for me. I curl up in my oversized sweater and slippers and enjoy. This is a pretty typical "me time" meal, though I prefer local fruit to also make an appearance, but most importantly, i must have my mug of tea. Today I have selected Bigelow's Constant Comment Green tea. I LOVE this tea. I drink it constantly with nothing else added. With breakfast I over steep it just a bit and add honey and a dab of almond milk.

 MMMMMMMMMM:)

On the rest of menu? Whole wheat toast, Egg over medium, and NC Berry Best Jam.

Imladris Farm Jam is AMAZING.

Always be sure to eat your breakfast. It's the most important meal of the day!
What is your favorite breakfast dish?

Dragoncon part 1

So it has been a bit more than a week now. The non alcohol induced hangover has subsided, my sleep schedule seems to be more on track, and (most importantly) the photos are starting to trickle out onto the internet. I'm going to begin by say that Dragon*Con was SO MUCH FREAKING FUN. omg.
Next time I go (and there WILL be a next time) I fully intend on planning more. Making selections ahead of time as to what I would like to participate in, Have all my costume stuff finished before I go, and schedule eating and sleeping times. Also, though costumes are NOT optional for this convention (at least with my crew) I think Monday will be just a cute outfit day. Also, no platform heels at all. Geeze.
So Friday was ADVENTURE TIME! If you are unfamiliar with this show you can watch the original short, but it only touches on the amazingness that is this show. I mean its a cartoon that John watches and likes, so yeah.

We did not end up with the greatest quality photos of this, (so hopefully a photo shoot is in the future) but I love this costume. I love this dress, I love the wig, I love being pink, and I love Princess Bubblegum. What isn't to love about a scientist princess that has marshmallow tea parties, and is made of bubblegum? She is truly a fantastic character, not just your average waif. That really is what does it for me with AT. The characters are all fleshed out nicely, and are quite likeable.

PB and Fiona

Party God and Fiona high fiving to infinity

Yes,  there was real booze in the cup. the key word is "was".
Day one under our belts, we looked forward to the next "adventure"
Check back for Part 2!

Also this is the last day(!!!) to enter my contest and win some earrings. Only a few hours left!
Luv,
Princess Bubblegum (Vanessa*)
