Robot Rock (Fated to Pretend 9)

This was John's #1 vote for my costume series. He laughed about having a "Robot Girlfriend" all day.  I think I may look a bit like a tin man mime,  but it was still cute and fun.

Meet Me at the Cemetery Gates (Fated to Pretend 8)

Little ghost, little ghost
One I'm scared of the most
Can you scare me up a little bit of love?
I'm the only one that sees you,
And I can't do much to please you
And it's not yet time to meet the lord above

The first moment that I met her
I did not expect a specter
When I shook her hand I really shook a glove
She looked into me so sweetly
And we left the room discreetly
No one else could know the secret of our love

Every morning I awoke
And I see my little ghost
Wondering if it's really her that's lying there
I lean to touch her and I whisper
But not brave enough to kiss her
When I held her I was really holding air

Though I try my best to keep it
There really was no secret
Must have looked like I was dancing with the wall
No one else could see this apparition
But because of my condition
I fell in love with a little ghost and that was all

Little ghost, little ghost
One I'm scared of the most
Can you scare me up a little bit of love?
I'm the only one that sees you,
And I can't do much to please you
And it's not yet time to meet the lord above -White Stripes
We actually photographed in an extremely old cemetery. John thinks it's at least 100 years old. You couldn't really read any of the headstones, and the church has long since been bulldozed and turned into a total wine. Man though, what a beautiful, creepy little place. Even if it is in the middle of a strip mall.

The dot patterns on my face are done with lace.

I've Got Cat Class and I've Got Cat Style(Fated to Pretend 7)

Of all the costumes I did, I actually felt a teeny bit guilty about this one. I have definitely dressed as a cat for Halloween before ( I bet I was 10 or 11), and it's one of the most abused drunk sorrori-slut costumes.  The only thing that got me past that was how Purr-fectly it came together. (sorry)
I opted for less of an actual black cat and more of a Lolita Cat Girl. Much less smeary face paint that way.

I made the ears the same way I made my Devil horns and Pumpkin fascinator. Felt and elmers glue makes up quick, cheap, and easy accessories.  I actually wish I had spent more time putting them together and made them a teeny bit better. They looked ok, but I know I could have done way better quality and cuter, and I don't like that feeling.

We decided to go to Scarowinds that night to see my hetero life mate and my little sis (both of them were working there) The Scare force had a blast yelling things like "Eat Kitty Cat" all night long. I'm so glad I gave them such an easy target.

Yes. I am wearing a giant jingle bell around my neck. Yes. It was annoyong to all those around me. Yes. It did get me into trouble in the Haunted mazes. It is a dollar store xmas door hanger that I disassembled and painted black. When added to a string of gigantic black glass I was pretty happy with the results. I need to get a real shot of my Bad Ass bracelet. I am wicked proud of that thing.

Pumpkin Soup (Fated To Pretend 6)

Sweet as pumpkin pie. Golly, this day was just so beautiful.Truly was was the perfect example of NC fall weather. Sunny, buttery, warmth with a prickling chill in the air. If I could bottle the way it makes you feel I'd be famous.

I loved this comfy, swishy, cozy, costume. I bought this dress a year ago and it remains one of my favorites.
I made the fascinator from felt and yarn, it received rave reviews. Just a smear of orange makeup to complete the look and I'm just as nice as spice.

Aren't we all just a little bit devilish? I had such a blast with this costume! My sparkly horns were my favorite part. Love. Pure and simple. they most likely will live on forever in future costumes. Of course I did have someone think I was a red cat... hmmm.

Witchy Woman (Fated to Pretend)

This was one of my personal choices for the costume series. I have never really dressed as a witch and it's a total classic. How does a completely Halloween obsessed girl go her entire life and never end up in a witch costume. Especially with it being so easy!
This hat made me feel a little bit bad. Just a little. I had fully intended on purchasing a super basic hat and decorating it to the realm of near tackiness. However, on a reconnaissance trip to Wally World I came across this already decorated beauty for way less than my total cost would have been. So with a guilty conscious, I put it in my cart, and took it home. I swear I would have totally done it up almost exactly the same way.

Blue Lagoon (Fated to Pretend 3)

So, I cheated. Already. It's been raining buckets full of cats and dogs, and I just couldn't get inspired to wear a sopping wet blonde wig all day. I decided to dress more weather appropriate. Blues and swampy greens paired with reptilian inspired makeup equals SWAMP CREATURE!

Not so much a nasty evil creature, more of a cranky damp one.

The lilly pads in my hair are burned organza flowers from my friends at In Ten Years. They sell on Etsy, Facebook, and in Beadlush (which is where i got mine)

Itsy Bitsy (Fated to Pretend 2)

For my second Dress up I went for a nursery rhyme classic. Miss Muffet was so enjoyable to style! I own a remarkable amount of spider jewelry, so they were a natural addition. My cute polka dot dress is actually a kids dress! Not much of a surprise that I was informed I looked about 12 today.

Oh my that little fella is getting fresh!
Mmmmmmmm. Curds and whey.

Kiss Kiss, Bang, Bang (part 1 of Fated to Pretend)

For the very first of my "Fated to Pretend" (count down to Halloween) series I went with something super classic that I've never done before. I know Cowboy was one of the few that you guys didn't get to vote for. I knew that I wanted to do this costume and I knew I had all the pieces to pull directly from my closet which was very appealing. This undertaking has great potential to be very expensive.

I had such a blast with this! Running around the meadow on my Monty Python style imaginary horse shooting bandits. I really channeled my Fievel Goes West fantasies from childhood. (wow. TWO nerdy references in one paragraph.)

Do I even kind of look like I could be a good shot?

Finger Bang.

I created these earrings for this cowboy outfit. The acrylic guns made them super light. I love the vintage stars and ombre Swarovski!

Hat: Vintage
Blouse: Delias* (really old)
Bandanna: So old I think it may be vintage. (I used to wear it to girl scout camp)
Belt: Frye (found thrifting!)
Skirt: Thrited
Underskirt: Forever 21
Tights: Hot Topic
Boots: Destroy
Jewelry: Vintage Star pin, and Corvidae Jewelry

I had such a blast with this!
Stay Tuned for MORE!
