Scott Partridge

I LOVE the artwork of Charlotte, NC artist Scott Partridge. His style ranges from Scientific illustration to modern digital art with a natural feel. I could go into all sorts of art theory as to how he uses modern unnatural technology to create such natural, approachable artwork, but I'm just gonna comment on how FREAKING cute his stuff is.

I have a print of the Sparrow above. He sits above my desk and makes me smile.

I specifically chose all the digital birds as I'm drawn to them, but he does so much more. Perhaps I'll show off his scientific illustrations soon. They are beautiful, and I'm kinda loving sea critters right now.
Please check him out on his web page Jevaart.com

Disclaimer: I was not compensated in any way for this post. I just love his work.

Find Your Niche

So I know that I have mentioned this like 20 times now, but I'm still REALLY excited. Corvidae Jewelry is available for purchase at Niche Market. That is, unless Stephanie buys it all first! You can find her modeling one of my creations HERE.

You may remember this necklace form HERE. You can check it out and tell me who wore it better.
I think we all know who it will be.

Yeah, ok it's the hot tattooed chick. I know.

I swear I have outfits and jewelry coming very soon. I swear. I'm trying to be a better blogger.

A Day Late (and pretty short too)

This is a reeeeeaally old drawing my sister did. It's based on the Brian Andreas poem :
The Easter Scorpion.

You don't have to believe in the Easter scorpion, but it'll still put a little more juice into the whole idea of putting your hand into dark places looking for eggs
~Brian Andreas

Check Out Brian Andreas HERE

And Alicia HERE

Hope your Easter was Hoppy! (LOL)

Creative Loafing @ Niche

Creative Loafing Magazine also photographed the Niche party. They had slightly better cameras than I. Here's a few select shots.

Hey Look it's Stephanie! She is one of the owners of Niche.
Is that a 12 year old? No! It's Vanessa. They caught me standing alone which is how I spent most of the night. Still enjoyed myself and met a few awesome people. I'm SO excited to be a part of the Niche name with Corvidae Jewelry!
I'm extremely excited to hear that I've already sold two pieces! Stay tuned for news.

Luv,
Vanessa*

(just so we are clear, none of these are my photos. Found them all HERE.)

Party at Niche

I was invited to a Fuse drink sponsored party at Niche the same day as my jewelry went in. I went armed with my iPhone to capture photos. They were so... iPhone that I opted to run them through an instamatic app(Shakeit light). Yeah, yeah, I know. Hipster.
Anyway, here is the photos! Yay!

Hey Look! It's Corvidae Jewelry!

I want ALL their shoes.

The party was a huge success and the place was hoppin. More photos to come from real photographers!

I did a bad, bad thing.

I bought myself a present. I got it at Niche in the South End of Charlotte. If you haven't been there, and you live in Charlotte, go. They have the BEST stuff. Like my Jewelry. Seriously :)
Also (if you have a sec) check out La Niche Biche. Stephanie, one of the owners, has her own little fashion blog and her style is amazing!
